Always store coated maps loosely in a breathable NON-airtight enclosure.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR AQUASEAL POLY COAT
- Apply in well-ventilated area. Before using, shake or stir gently until white color on top is dispersed.
- All surfaces to be coated must be clean and dry. Wash thoroughly and remove loose particles. Rinse thoroughly, all traces of cleaner must be removed. WARNING: Machine washing of polymer coated nylons may loosen the old coating to such a degree that it may have to be removed prior to applying POLYCOAT.
- When applying to coated fabrics, always apply to the side opposite from that which is coated. The existing coat will tend to peel if POLYCOAT is applied to it. This makes it appear as though the POLYCOAT is peeling, apply to the opposite side only.
- Use a medium bristle brush, flow on evenly and spread out preventing runs. Allow to dry for a few minutes, then brush out all runs and puddles. If runs and puddles are allowed to dry hard, the film may peel in that area. Material soaks through fabric, be sure opposite side is free and clear during application. Dry 72 hours at 70 F prior to folding. Sprinkle talcum powder on coated areas prior to folding the first time. One application is all that is necessary.
- Heavy traffic areas (such as tent floors) need two coats. If there is not existing coating on the floor (not very likely), both sides may be coated. If both coats are applied to the same side, apply second coat while first coat is still tacky, i.e., 5-15 minutes air dry.
- Keep brush wet at all times then clean promptly with water. Keep container tightly capped when not in use.
CAUTION:
POLYCOAT is a utility product designed for restoring waterproofing, it may change the aesthetic appearance of the fabric it is applied to.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR AQUASEAL SEAM SEAL (Solvent-based)
- Remove all dirt and oil from seams.
- Daub on one coat of SEAM SEAL with the dauber cap on the container.
The dauber is especially useful on double stitched seams where both seams can be sealed simultaneously.
A wiping motion will help deposit the sealant in all seams, stitching holes, thread and fabric joints.
Always seal on the inside whenever practical.
Will leave noticeable coating.
- Dry about 1 hour. Repeat.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR AQUASEAL SEAM SEAL, (WATER-BASED)
- Remove all dirt from seams. Heavily soiled seams should be dry brushed with a stiff bristle brush. If necessary use Seam Prep to assist in cleaning.
- Apply SEAM SEAL with the applicator provided.
Daub on one coat with the dauber cap on the container.
The dauber is especially useful on double stitched seams where both seams can be sealed simultaneously.
A wiping motion will help deposit the sealant in all seams, stitching holes, thread and fabric joints.
Seal garment, tent and pack seams from inside whenever possible. Will leave noticeable coating.
- Dry at room temperature for two hours before folding or using.
One coat does the job.
